They want to come into this country. They want to help the economy of this country. They want to have a better life for themselves. The United States offers that opportunity. We want them to be able to get that in a dignified manner.

These attacks are against a particular community: the Latino community, which is my community. And that's one of the many reasons we say these are racist organizations.

There should not be any more people dying to cross this border.

We still don't know whether it will be a march, a strike, or a fast.

We're not for uncontrolled borders, but we should have intelligent and humane borders like Canada or Europe.

We are pleased, although we must not relax our pressure until we are finally considered to be citizens with rights.

Three people per day die crossing the border. The official (total) number is 4,000. We don't know the real number. How many more bodies are out there? We don't want one more death.

We'll plant 17 crosses in their memories and hold a vigil reminding people they will not be forgotten and their voices will be heard.

We support the bill by Sen. John McCain. It's not perfect, but it's a step in the right direction.

Four thousand deaths is too many. Building walls is not the solution, but building bridges of communication is.
